Dr. Sunder Featured on “Inspiring Women In Surgery”
Meet Dr. Sarmela @drsarmelasunder – a double Board-Certified Otolaryngology (Head & Neck) & Facial & Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon in SoCal. Dr. Sunder received her MD from @weillcornell followed by a re sidency @stanford.med, & culminated w/ fellowship training. Her academic accolades, however, do not make her story. Dr. Sarmela grew up in S. Florida in a science-oriented family – her mother is a veterinarian & her father is an engineer – an upbringing that planted the seed of ambition. Dr. Sarmela focuses specifically on the head & neck region, which she believes is so important to achieving ‘master’ results – the idea that focus & repetition are the keys to constant improvement to expert artistry. She stresses the idea of treating every patient as a VIP – she treats many celebrities, but feels that everybody deserves equal care. If you read reviews on her, there are common themes: “gracious”, “amazing”, “great results”, “attention to detail”, & “down to earth” (to name a few). Dr. Sarmela says, “the more challenging a case, the more exhilarating the feeling. I would say the ‘magic’ is really at the end when everything comes together – I can see the final result & am able to compare it to the ‘before’ pictures & realize how it’s going to change the person’s life for-the-better.” Dr. Sarmela feels that being a female gives her an edge when treating female patients – the nuances of beauty that encompass subtle changes to achieve a ‘refreshed’ look. Dr. Sarmela is a connector that always feels the need to build lasting relationships with her patients to the point that they can call & email her whenever they like – the little things that keep people coming back & recommending her. Outside of her practice, Dr. Sarmela is a loving wife, mother of 2 (3 & 5 yrs old), & a humanitarian. She does both surgical missions abroad as well as pro-bono cases for people who cannot afford the care. Dr. Sarmela is a wonderful surgeon who represents professional excellence combined with a human touch of elegance to create amazing results. I heart her.

KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection is a prescription injectable medicine indicated to improve the appearance of moderate to severe submental fat (fat below the chin) popularly referred as the “double chin.” Kybella™ is identical to the deoxycholic acid that is naturally created in the body which helps the body absorb fats. Kybella™ is a cytolytic (cell disruption) drug which, when injected properly into submental fat tissue, destroys fat cells.
