CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing
Take years off your skin with CO2 laser skin resurfacing. This rejuvenating laser treatment encourages the production of collagen and healthy new skin cells while enhancing the skins tone and texture.

WHAT IS CO2 LASER SKIN RESURFACING?

CO2 laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that involves the use of carbon dioxide (CO2) and a skin resurfacing laser (ablative laser) to remove fine lines and wrinkles, scars, sun damage, texture problems, and other skin conditions. It also offers the benefits of skin tightening, a smoother and more even complexion, and a youthful glow with just one session

IS IT PAINFUL?

Fractionated CO2 laser treatments are considered to be the most invasive of laser treatments, with an average downtime of 5-10 days. CO2 laser is regarded as a safe and effective treatment to address signs of aging on the face and body for most skin types, however, due to the prolonged period of healing and risk for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, it is not recommended for darker skin tones.

Potential risk factors and temporary side-effects include:

  • Mild or slight discomfort during treatment
  • Skin inflammation post-treatment
  • 5-10 days of skin redness and scabbing
  • Itching
  • Sensitivity to sunlight

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

After a period of numbing with topical numbing cream (about 30 minutes), the laser treatment can take between 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?

You will see results 3-4 weeks after your treatment, with the most benefit becoming more apparent 3-6 months after your treatment. This depends on the severity of your skin condition before the procedure, and how many treatments you will need to get your desired result.
