Injectables

Every day, tons of people look for innovative ways to turn back the hands of time and bring back that youthful look. Minor cosmetic procedures can help you do just that by eliminating wrinkles, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and improving skin elasticity. Some cosmetic procedures are so minor that you don’t need to spend too much time in recovery. This is where plastic surgery injectables get their fame. In this article, we’ll highlight some of the most common injectables we offer in Beverly Hills, and how they help you get back your young appearance.

BOTOX, DYSPORT, AND XEOMIN

These three fall under neuromodulators. Neuromodulators are proteins that hinder communication between nerves and muscle cells. Muscular contraction and expansion depend on nerve impulses. Neuromodulators prevent these muscle movements and remove all signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines.

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin all contain a neuromodulating protein called Botulinum toxin type A, the same one that leads to Botulism. Worry not, however, because this protein is purified from any disease and is safe to use. This protein works by relaxing your muscle cells, weakening them, thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Botox is the oldest of these three, and has been FDA-approved since 2002. It is the most tried and tested injectable neuromodulator, and contains trace amounts of albumin and sodium chloride. Some Botox side effects include headaches, excessive sweating, eyelid twitches, and cervical dystonia.

Dysport is similar to Botox in function, but not dosage. It comes as a single-use, 300 or 500 unit vial. This means that your plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills may use more Dysport than Botox for the same injection site. It also tends to activate faster and last longer than Botox for some patients. Most people use the term Botox for similar products.

Xeomin is the newest neuromodulator in the market today. It contains pure Botulinum, making it more effective for patients with high protein intolerance. Since it lacks any additives, it may work faster than both Botox and Dysport.

All three have high efficacy, though Botox has been around for longer and is more trusted than Dysport and Xeomin. You can use any and still get your desired results. Dr. Sarmela Sunder provides Botox, Dysport, as well as Xeomin in Beverly Hills, schedule an appointment today!

CHEEKS

Cheek injectables are liquid fillers you can use to plump up the areas on and around your cheekbones. This gives the appearance of a more defined bone structure by injecting fillers under the skin. This may also smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. Some recommended fillers for this area are Hyaluronic and polylactic acid and can last anywhere between 6 months and 2 years. The filler naturally metabolizes into your skin tissue, so it’s safe to use. The injection procedure lasts for roughly 20 minutes, and you’ll see results immediately afterward. You’ll need to avoid touching your face and do strenuous activity immediately after the injections. Also, keep your face as clean as possible to avoid infection at the injection site.

LIQUID RHINOPLASTY

This is the injection of subdermal fillers on the nose to alter its shape. It is the modern cosmetic option as opposed to surgical rhinoplasty. This procedure is temporary and has a shorter recovery time. It uses the same fillers used in the cheek area. It has been touted as a safe, effective alternative to surgery. Liquid rhinoplasty helps fix nose issues like dorsal humps, drooping nasal tips, and asymmetry.
Kybella TM

Kybella is a brand name for Deoxycholic acid, the same component found in biliary ducts. It is used as a facial injectable to reduce the appearance of a double chin and turkey neck. It produces noticeable effects after 2 injection sessions (6 weeks) and the full effects will be seen after 6 months. Kybella metabolizes the fat under the chin and neck to reduce a double chin and flabby neck. There is insufficient professional research on Deoxycholic acid as a cosmetic procedure injectable, and how long the effects last.

SCULPTRA

Sculptra is a subdermal injection we offer in Beverly Hills that has been around since the early nineties. It is used to fight wrinkles and saggy skin on the face and buttocks. Sculptra is a brand name for the main chemical used, which is poly-L-lactic acid. It stimulates the skin to produce new collagen, which keeps the skin firm, youthful, and smooth.

LIPS

Lip injectables are fillers, similar to the ones used for cheeks and liquid rhinoplasty. It is a minimally invasive procedure with little to no side effects. The lip injectables we offer in Beverly Hills give you lip fullness and are injected on and around the lip.
