BOTOX® COSMETIC

The aesthetic use of Botox® Cosmetic started in the late 80’s and since has grown exponentially in the world of cosmetic surgery. Born from medical use for decades, Botulinum toxin is a purified neurotoxin protein that is strategically injected via very small needles into various desired muscles areas of the face to prevent rhytide or wrinkle formation by relaxing the muscles. Visible results of Botox® Cosmetic treatments for our Beverly Hills patients are typically noted around 5 to 7 days post injection but the average patient will report full visible results around 10 days. It may take up to two weeks for Botox® to fully take effect. We often suggest a follow-up visit at that time if need be. Botox® is FDA approved for the glabellar (between the brows or the 11’s) as well as the crow’s feet area (around the eyes).

Furthermore, Botox® has been widely used for decades for different areas that are as effective, safe and extremely popular among the devotees of this treatment such as some of the following areas listed below:

  • Forehead: Forehead lift
  • Upper lip: Smoker’s lines
  • Bunny lines: Bridge of the nose
  • Mandibles: Bruxism treatment or to soften the jawline
  • Chin: Dimpling
  • Neck/Skull: Migraine
  • Platysmal bands: Tightening of the neck bands
  • Tip of the nose: To lift the tip
  • Hyperhydrosis: Excessive sweat

Botox® is a remarkable product for its diversity, effectiveness and trustworthiness. Choosing the right physician to inject you is key to the success and durability of the treatment. DYSPORT®

Dysport® is an injection containing abobotulinumtoxinA (Botulinum toxin type A). Dysport® helps in reducing the creation of rhytides (wrinkles) just like his big brother Botox®, causing a temporary reduction in muscle activity treating safely and effectively various areas of the face via small needles. Visible results are reported to happen as early as 3 days post injection but the average patient will report full visible results after 10 days. Dysport® was FDA approved back in 2009 for aesthetic use for glabellar lines (frown lines) but just like its predecessor, Dysport® is widely used for other areas of the face in addition to its medical purposes. These areas include the forehead and the crow’s feet. Only a highly skilled, trained physician like Dr. Sarmela Sunder can provide you with the most natural rested youthful look. We are often asked what the difference is between Dysport® and Botox®. Well, they have more in common than they differ. But to start with Dysport® is measured differently and therefore injected with a different unit ratio (3 units of Dysport® for 1 Botox®). Some physicians will agree that Dysport® is preferred among some patients for the crow’s feet area due to its diffusion into muscles creating a very natural, movement friendly environment. While Xeomin® remains mostly unknown due to its newness and lack of exposure, Dr. Sarmela Sunder always makes sure that her practice offers a variety of treatments alike. Not all patients are created equal nor have the same needs or expectations. So what is Xeomin®? It is a highly purified neurotoxin protein derived from the same Botulinum toxin type A with a unique manufacturing process. Again, it is the way it is compounded where the difference is between Xeomin® and other like products. It is FDA approved for the glabellar lines (between the brows or frown lines) since 2010 and is currently available in 20 countries and has been administered over a million in the US and around the world. Juvéderm® XC

As we age, our face gradually loses its youthful fullness. Without its former scaffolding, the skin starts to sag and sink, creating folds around the mouth and hollowness under the eyes and cheeks. Juvéderm®XC offers a fast and simple way to restore volume and elasticity to aging skin. Juvéderm® XC is an injectable filler made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that helps maintain the body’s eyes, joints and skin. In a gel form, Juvéderm® XC flows easily into the skin, creating a smooth, natural look and feel. Juvéderm® XC was approved in June 2006 by the U.S. FDA to reduce and soften nasolabial folds, or “smile lines,” deep folds which run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It is also widely used as a lip augmentation agent, and to fill in hollow places and scars on the face along with marionette lines (deep folds from the corner of the mouth to chin). All hyaluronic acid facial filler products are eventually absorbed by the body slowly. The average patient will experience a long lasting result for up to 9 months. Juvéderm®XC is among the most popular dermal fillers in Dr. Sarmela Sunder’s practice. Dr. Sunder is a master injector safely providing her patients the most natural look. Juvéderm®XC has a great reputation for its predictability, safety and effectiveness. Juvéderm® XC works well for cosmetic and plastic surgery applications because hyaluronic acid can absorb up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, thereby adding new volume under the surface of sagging skin. RADIESSE®

RADIESSE® is a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin to smooth out moderate to severe facial rhytides (wrinkles). Dr. Sarmela Sunder will Inject RADIESSE® through a small needle and placed under the skin. This filler works immediately to add volume under the skin and over time, the benefits of RADIESSE® continue by naturally stimulating your body’s own natural collagen. The natural results have been reported by the average patient to last up to a year or more for some patients, making the treatment results both immediate and long lasting. RADIESSE® is composed of Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. It is not part of the HA (hyaluronic acid) dermal filler family. RADIESSE® is approved in 52 other countries. The proper training and appropriate use plays a big role in the success for optimum results.
