Microneedling with PRP is an all-natural skin treatment that is safe for all skin types. It is a non-invasive and chemical-free treatment that utilizes your own body’s ‘reparative cells to regenerate new collagen and elastin to rejuvenate your skin.

What is Microneedling?

At our office in Beverly Hills, microneedling is a safe, chemical-free treatment that allows your body to trigger new collagen production for your face. Also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), microneedling is more than just the latest trend to treat your skin for a more youthful appearance. It is a minimally invasive treatment that uses fine needles to create micro-perforations in the skin. This kind of controlled skin injury triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. This can help soften signs of aging (such as fine lines), fade acne scars, minimize pores, and generally improve your skin texture, leaving your skin looking more youthful and refreshed. When you come to our Beverly Hills office for microneedling or collagen induction therapy, the result is smoother, firmer, more even looking skin. And unlike laser treatments, microneedling is safe for all skin colors and types.

What tool is used for microneedling?

We use the Eclipse MicroPen for microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, at our Beverly Hills office.

What is PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma and is a substance found naturally in your blood that can promote healing. Platelets and plasma play a critical role in the body’s ability to heal itself from injury. PRP creates, stimulates, and accelerates the body’s natural healing process. Since PRP is derived from your own blood, the side effects are virtually eliminated. We draw a couple of teaspoons of your own blood and spin it down using a centrifuge that separates the blood so that we have access to the platelets and plasma (the good stuff) that can be used to treat a variety of issues.

Why combine microneedling with PRP?

When PRP is combined with microneedling, it penetrates your skin through the microchannels created from the microneedles. The PRP supercharges the microneedling benefits, enhancing collagen production and skin healing.

Is it painful?

No. We apply a topical numbing cream prior to treatment so you don’t feel any pain during the treatment.

How long does it take?

About one hour. If numbing cream is required then that takes about 30 minutes to apply. After that, the actual microneedling takes about 30 minutes.

What is the downtime and when can I see results?

Microneedling downtime is only one to three days. After the treatment, there will be some mild redness. You will notice some results immediately and you will see your skin begin to improve more significantly over the course of two to three weeks. The full results can be seen up to six months after treatment as collagen production continues.

How many treatments will I need?

Each patient is different and will require a consultation before determining how many treatments you should have. While some patients notice an improvement after just one session, most patients require at least 3 sessions.
